CHOLESTEROL EP/NF is an almost odourless, white powder that is derived from woolgrease, the by-product of wool scouring (washing). The woolgrease is subjected to alkaline hydrolysis that yields Lanolin Alcohol from which the Cholesterol is extracted. CHOLESTEROL EP/NF fully meets the requirements of the United States National Formulary and the European Pharmacopoeia at a minimum 95% purity.
CHOLESTEROL EP/NF is the chosen grade for pharmaceutical manufacturing that includes Vitamin D3, steroid hormones and Cholesteryl Esters. Cholesterol is also used as a w/o emulsifying agent in cream and lotion, providing superior emulsifying and stabilising properties.
